One of the most important elements of the DLT drive is a reliable tape path. It makes sure that the tracks are aligned, and are compatible between different drives.

To ensure a reliable tape path, the head guide assembly (HGA) should be aligned, including azimuth and zenith, according to the OEM specs. Sprague Magnetics can provide customers with aligned HGA`s to support their own repair. Alignment is done on special designed fixtures. By default, Sprague Magnetics aligns all their repaired DLT drives.

Repair service

In addition to alignment, Sprague Magnetics also repairs HGA`s. After repair, the HGA will be aligned.
