For all types and brands DLT tape drives Sprague Magnetics offers a repair
service along the following guide lines:
Our pricing structure, is divided in three categories,
with the following repaired defect definitions;
Low tier
Leader replacement, firmware, enclosure buttons, blocked tape, solenoid,
sensors head guide assembly alignment, all other repairs not covered in
mid/high tier.
Mid tier
Repairable head functions, repairable module functions.
High tier
Module or head has to be replaced for adequate functioning.
Note: Drives with multiple defects build in will be handled
as such
We currently repair:
DLT260, DLT600, DLT2000, DLT2000XT, DLT4000, DLT7000, DLT8000, SDLT220,
SDLT320, DLT1,LTO1,LTO2 (HP,IBM, Seagate). All flavors , all brands
We repair with 100% yield
Within the DLT 2000 (XT) category it can be expected that >70% will fall in the low tier range, while in the DLT 4000 & 7000 & 8000 category it can be expected that >50% will fall within the low tier category.
Our aim is to keep repair pricing levels below the market prices. Prices
include one way shipping (UPS) + 6 months repair warranty.
At higher volumes >10 per month, special discounts are applicable,
while average pricing can be quoted.
Not only a break-fix repair will be carried out for you, and standard replacement of the leader, also all drives will have the Head Guide Assembly aligned, and bearings replaced when necessary.
A report on the performance of the tape head can be included.
Turn Around Time
A standard five working day turn-around time is applicable.
Shorter T.A.T is possible, and even a same day repair service can be provided.
